I know ... it has banner ads
These Web Log (Blog) things do have a banner ad at the top, and only CitySearch derives income from them. I think Fairfax (who I work for) sold CitySearch last year ... so I don't have a vested interest (I think). Who knows how Google get their chop.
The facility has to be paid for somehow ... and in Mr Google's defence, I must point out that he tries to make the ads relevant to the classification of the blog. So far, the only ad to turn up is for a LFS in Perth ... that's fine by me. As more LFSs go electronic (and advertise with Google), I presume they will start turning up too.
